Job Title: Senior QS Engineer
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 4-6 years of experience in the Steel Structure field (essential)
- Proficient in Excel & ERP systems, with good knowledge of AutoCAD and Tekla Software
Job Responsibilities:
- Review contract agreements and extract necessary commercial information for the execution stage (scope of work, method of measurements, exclusion list, deviation list, responsibility matrix, optional rates, etc.)
- Survey the Issued for Construction (IFC) Quantities received in the welcome package and compare them with the contract drawings. For re-measurable projects, study the types of received IFCs and compare them to the bidding drawings, preparing for building claims (complexity, changes in category/type, etc.).
- Keep track of all quantities throughout the execution stages.
- Work closely with the project and engineering teams to update and register quantities from the IFCs until Issued for Fabrication, ensuring the contract/PO value is forecasted monthly.
- Review monthly invoicing prepared by the invoicing team, ensuring that the main scope and variations are invoiced separately.
- Review engineering drawings to validate weight and scope upon issuance.
- Prepare a list of potential claims/variations related to quantity or drawing complexity for each project.
- Differentiate between the main scope and variations in quantities, maintaining proper supporting documents for each type.
- Assign proper cost codes for each project and ensure correct implementation by the engineering team.
- Check supplier invoices and compare them with the claimed quantities from the client.
- Prepare the final quantifications and close the final PO value with the Project Management Department and the client.
- Attend client meetings to discuss the method of measurements for each project.
