Quality Controller (Food Industry)
Main Responsibilities :
• Ensures production process parameters meet standard process procedures and note any inconsistencies;
• Ensures that all machinery and equipments used in Water / Tomato Production are clear and free from humidity by performing one trial run prior to production start;
• Examines production lines to see if they conform to hygienic standards prior to production start and halt those that do not conform to standards, informing Senior Quality in Charge – Quality Control;
• Checks ingredient type and weight against standard process procedures;
• Performs on-line production quality inspections that entail reading, such as net weight, percentage (%) of moisture, wrapping and sealing property and by collecting samples from each production line on daily basis;
• Assess finished products in terms of quality and conformity of labeling and packaging to standards and regulations. Ensures that labeling discloses net weight, production and expiry dates, nutritional facts and other important information in both Arabic and English. Ensures packaging is user friendly and conforms to standards;
• Checks physical testing of finished products and ensure that they are within standards;
• Visually inspects samples of empty containers and packages before filling point, for defects and cleanliness;
• Coordinates and maintains calibration schedules for all mechanical measuring equipment;
• Prepares inspection reports, highlighting non-conformance items, for review and scrutiny by Assistant Manager – Development & Quality Products;
• Informs the Assistant Manager – Quality Control of any deviation from quality
Qualifications :
-Bachelors degree in Chemistry, with specialization in Quality Control or Food Safety
-Clear verbal communication in Arabic, English is a plus
2 to 4 years related work experience in quality control and/or laboratories within a food manufacturing food / drinks environment
Food manufacturing environment experience is essential
Familiarity with ISO 9001, HACCP and ISO 14000, ISO 22 000 standards
