IT Senior System Administrator
Job Accountabilities
• Run and support the infrastructure solutions in the most effective way (day and on-call night & week-end support).
• Install, upgrade, configure, deliver and maintain different infrastructure solutions, computer systems, network servers, virtualization and integrate automation processes
• Administer, optimize and tune the servers and related components to ensure high availability of the various business applications.
• Administer internet/intranet infrastructure, including components such as SharePoint, Apache, and IIS servers.
• Implement updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to limit loss of service and follow web server security measures.
• Diagnose and fix incidents as quickly as possible, and make sure that the root cause analysis are done to prevent problems and resulting incidents from happening, as well as to eliminate recurring incidents.
• Maintain up to date the infrastructure inventory for what is relevant (technical inventory & technical guides and processes).
• Manage network servers and technology tools
• Deal with multiple incidents/tasks simultaneously.
• Actively participate in all areas of daily operations involving several technologies such as Microsoft, Linux, and storage.
• Proactive detection, troubleshooting and resolution of systems issues.
• Providing secure connectivity over VPN technologies for all different sites and clients.
• Perform and attend required network audits.
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
• Troubleshoot issues and outages, hardware and software, networking issues by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
• IT Certification on Server and OS related is preferred
• VMWare, Citrix Certification is preferred
• ITIL
Required Experience
• LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN
• Authentication: Radius, SSL, Active Directory, SSH, DNS, DHCP
• CCNA Routing and Switching. – CCNP Routing and switching
• SAN / NAS / San Switches (Zoning/config)
• Symantec Enterprise Vault, Netbackup, Commvault.
• Any knowledge in scripting is an advantage
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Handle vendors SLAs and KPI and contract.
• Clear understanding of web standards and usability methods.
• Familiarity with web publishing tools.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and related web site development technologies and software.
• Effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in a large enterprise organization and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills (both strong written and verbal English is a must).
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Self-motivated approachable, adaptable and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Knowledge of SharePoint Administration.
• Proficiency with relational database technology, SQL, and MySQL.
• General knowledge of CRM and ERP applications.
